Billy Ray Cyrus said memories with his daughter “still hit home.”
The “Achy Breaky Heart” star, 64, posted a throwback photo on Instagram with daughter Miley Cyrus on the set of Hannah Montana. Miley played the title character in her breakout role on the early 2000s series, which followed her double life as a normal teenager (Miley Stewart) and a pop superstar (Hannah Montana). The show will mark its 20th anniversary since its premiere date in 2026.
“As we head into the holidays, it’s hard not to feel grateful for the memories — and the music — that live on,” Billy Ray, who also played Miley’s onscreen dad in the series, wrote in his caption on Instagram. “With the Hannah Montana anniversary coming up next year... it’s wild how those moments still hit home. Here’s to Christmas cheer, timeless songs, and cranking ‘Run Rudolph Run’ a little louder.”
Miley, who has teased a 20th anniversary celebration, made history when she became the youngest-ever Disney Legend last year (where reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson, who worked as a Hannah Montana impersonator in her teen years, performed in her honor). She made an emotional acceptance speech, and said she “was so proud to be Hannah Montana. “I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana because she made Miley in so many ways. This award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing, loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality.”
