As someone who has been through a category 5 hurricane just four years ago, it's been a tough week watching what the people of South Central Florida have been going through. Hurricane Ian devastated so many communities and lives. When I saw this video though, it made me remember all of the good people who are there to help. It's a simple thing, a simple act, but its worth sharing.
The cat was seeking higher ground and climbed on the top of an air conditioning unit at what appears to be an apartment building as flood waters were rapidly rising around it. A 29 year old young man named Mike Ross risked his life to go grab the terrified cat with the fast moving water pulling at him as he walked towards it. He grabs that cat who luckily didn't fight him and brings it back inside to safety. The way the cat is holding on to him as he returns is just so sweet. You can tell it was so happy someone came for it. Way to go Mike!
The couple have used their 'viral' moment for a good cause. They set up a gofundme account that they are using to help their community rebuild.
