New dates are announced for Schooners 28th Annual Lobster Festival & Tournament in the wake of Hurricane Irma. The following release from Michael Whitmer, Schooners GM, states:
Schooners 28th Annual Lobster Festival & Tournament – New Dates Announced in the wake of Hurricane Irma
September 25 – October 1, 2017
Panama City Beach, FL, September 11, 2017:
The 2017 Schooners Lobster Festival and Tournament has been rescheduled to the last week of September. The event will be a weeklong celebration of Florida Lobster, beginning Monday, September 25, with original and classic Lobster specials on the Schooners menu, as well as a 3 day undertaking by professional sand sculptors, “Sanding Ovations,” to erect a giant lobster themed Sand Sculpture on the beach behind Schooners.
Saturday, September 30, the Festival will kick off with Sandcastle and Sand Sculpting Contests for Advanced as well as Adult/Family categories. At 10am, the beach stage goes live with music & contests, and the Lobster Feast begins at 11am. Live entertainment rocks all weekend long.
Sunday, October 1, the restaurant opens at 10am and the Lobster Feast & Beach Party kicks off at 11am. At 4pm, the Lobster Auction and Diver Awards takes place on the Main stage while Identity Crisis band rocks the Beach Stage. The Grand Prize Drawing is at 7pm.
