Well, it finally happened. We got Infinity War: Endgame! Yes, it was incredible. Yes, it was three hours long. And yes, I did see the 11pm showing of the movie, so my sleep schedule is way off.
I'm a huge fan of the Marvel universe, so there's no way I wouldn't have liked the movie. But I will say that I wasn't the biggest fan of the script for this particular film. I won't dare spoil any of the plot points for you. But there were some frustrating things about it.
On a positive note, I do want to point out the further genius of Marvel Studios, as it pertains to Captain Marvel:
I consider myself pretty well-versed in the Marvel universe, but I actually never knew much about Captain Marvel, nor did I really have a lot of interest in going to see the Captain Marvel movie...until I saw Infinity War: Endgame. And I think that's why Marvel Studios released Captain Marvel when they did. I think they knew that many Marvel fans would have a "meh" reaction to a movie about this character. But they knew that fans would see Endgame, of course. And after seeing that movie, fans' interest would be piqued enough to go see the Captain Marvel movie, which they did. Endgame made over $1.2 billion over the weekend, crushing every box office record ever. And guess what came in at #2? Captain Marvel, which has been in theaters for two months now. Very very savvy, Marvel.
