A truck driver from Tennessee is a real life Noah with an ark on wheels! Tony, a 51-year-old trucker, was parked at a Waffle House in South Carolina when he heard that there were several animals who were being displaced in the midst of Hurricane Florence.
Some of the animals were at shelters that were being evacuated due to flooding; others were abandoned by their owners during the storm. When Tony found out about the pets in need, he jumped into action! Tony used his own money to drive around and rescue these animals, loaded them up, and took them to a shelter in Alabama, far from the hurricane.
“I’m like, look, these are lives too,” Tony told The Washington Post. "If I have to I’ll pay for all the fuel, or even a boat, to get these dogs out of there.”
Tony rescued over 60 pets, and he's still at it! Way to go, Tony!
