There will be a smell of smoke in the air for some Martin County residents today.
That's because of a prescribed burn scheduled for the next two days at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, weather permitting.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection says the two burns, one today and one tomorrow, will consist of 440 acres of pine flatwoods in the middle of the park, along Park Drive and the equestrian area near Eaglesview.
These burns are conducted as a way of decreasing the potential of wildfires.
