Broward County, FL - A loose dog brought traffic to a sudden stop on I-95 in Broward County Monday morning after dashing across lanes and leading troopers on a brief pursuit.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to reports of a dog running loose on the busy interstate near the Davie Boulevard exit ramp, prompting an immediate traffic shutdown to avoid potential accidents.
The canine, described as energetic and unbothered by the commotion, was seen weaving between vehicles and dodging troopers and good Samaritans attempting to catch her.
News helicopters captured the surreal scene from above as the dog maneuvered through the closed-off area with surprising agility.
At one point, she faked out two approaching rescuers, forcing one to drop his phone mid-chase.
Despite the chaos, the four-legged fugitive appeared to be enjoying the moment, tongue out and tail wagging, seemingly unaware of the danger around her.
The chase came to a calm conclusion when the dog, cornered by troopers and bystanders, willingly jumped into the open back door of a patrol cruiser.
Authorities said she was not injured during the chase and has since been turned over to the Humane Society of Broward County for evaluation and care.
It remains unclear how the dog ended up on the interstate, but officials praised the quick response from both law enforcement and drivers for preventing any serious incidents.
As of now, her owner has not been identified, and the investigation into her roadside adventure continues.
