Mike just went to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after it was back in theaters for its 35th Anniversary. He shares the history of the movie and how it became the highest-grossing independent film of its time. He talks about why the movie is one of his Top 10 of all-time, how it felt watching it for the first time on the big screen and the top moments that still hold up after 35 years. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters which had sing-along screenings over the weekend. It follows a K-pop girl group, Huntr/x, who lead double lives as demon hunters. They face off against a rival boy band, the Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons. Mike talks about what sticks out about the animation, how the movie made a statement on the music industry and the pressures of being a pop star and why you shouldn’t be afraid to go to the movies alone for sing-along events. In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about Marty Supreme starring Timothée Chalamet. It is inspired by the life of legendary table tennis player Marty Reisman. Mike talks about if this is the year for the return of sports movies, why he is excited for Tyler The Creator to be in it, and will Chalamet finally get his Oscar?

Amy and Kat kick things off with a few thoughts about the Amy Bradley case (if you know, you know) before diving into a monthly check-in exercise that Amy’s bringing to the table this week. She walks herself and Kat through 5 prompts (what they’re proud of, grateful for, affirming, and working on next) and encourages you to try it out too (see the prompts below!) From small wins like finally hanging curtains and hiring a house cleaner to quirky habits (stretching that’s actually just lying on the floor), it’s a mix of relatable and comical…especially Kat’s book recommendation that comes up and Amy’s dryer-ball obsession!
Amy also shares the very weird moment when a guy tried hitting on her while she was with her kids and reads a quick thing about why wives might be the ultimate “cheat code to life.”
Want to try the check-in for yourself or with friends and family? Just finish these 5 sentences with whatever feels true for you right now:
This month, I’m proud of accomplishing…
One thing I’m grateful for is…
My affirmation for the next month is…
One habit I cultivated this month was…
One thing I want to accomplish next month is…

What is the greatest year in movie history? That’s the question this week! Mike breaks down what he believes to be the Top 5 years of all-time and his favorite 5 films from each of those years. When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanishes on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance. In the Trailer Park, Mike dives into Predator: Badlands which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi. It is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary. Mike shares how the trailer won him over, the language developed for the movie and why Predator and Alien fans are the best people.
