Hunter Hayes hinted at “Easter Eggs” as he shared a tour of his music video set on TikTok on Wednesday (February 4).

The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist released “Too Late,” the latest track from his upcoming album, on Friday (January 30). Hayes took TikTok followers behind the scenes of the music video set, a greenhouse, teasing “truth” and “lore.” He pointed out the collection of plants, a mixed-up Rubik’s cube, paper airplanes, painting and more throughout the clip. Hayes wanted to know, “what easter eggs did you notice,” and “what parts of this did you believe and/or NOT believe?”

“I really just wanted ‘Too Late’ to feel like hope,” Hayes said before releasing “Too Late.” “I wanted something hopeful. I wanted a love song, and said, you know, as you go through life and as things happen, everything happens in the time that it’s supposed to. And everything happens the way that it’s supposed to, and if you trust that process, then it’s kind of never too late. …Everything happens for you, not to you. I think the most beautiful things are things worth the wait.”

Next month, Hayes will kick off his headlining “Evergreen Tour” with special guests BLÜ EYES and Franklin Jonas & The Byzantines on select dates. Evergreen will arrive on March 6.

“Evergreen started as a series of letters from my future self,” Hayes said in a statement when he announced Evergreen. “In some ways a prayer, and in some ways manifestation. I wanted to make a project from the future. It’s full of hope, optimism, light and love. It’s an escape from reality as well as a new way to appreciate the good things in our everyday life, and how every experience shapes us to better and brighter versions of ourselves as we create a better version of our future.”
