Reba McEntire, Melissa Peterman Stir Anticipation For Soon-To-Premiere Show

Reba McEntire reunited with Reba costar Melissa Peterman at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards. The show took place on Sunday evening (September 15) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.

McEntire and Petermen, who teamed up to present the award for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series, talked with entertainment news outlets on the red carpet about their upcoming sitcom, Happy’s Place. The comedy series stars McEntire with her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, in addition to Peterman, Belissa EscobedoPablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. Peterman said “the chemistry is still there,” per PEOPLE, while speaking about the new show. “We talked about it, that we've been waiting a long time, and this time feels right. It feels like we were waiting for the right cast, the right time, and we're ready.”

McEntire and Peterman worked together on beloved early 2000s sitcom Reba, which premiered in 2001 and ended in 2007. The cast also included Christopher RichJoAnna Garcia SwisherScarlett PomersMitch Holleman and Steve Howey. In Happy’s Place, McEntire will play Bobbie, who “inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had,” according to NBC. McEntire previously shared a sneak peek of the upcoming series.

Happy’s Place is set to premiere on October 18.
