A pair of NL East rivals will begin their dream of a World Series championship against one another. The Philadelphia Phillies are playing host to the Miami Marlins in Game One of the National League Wild Card Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.
Right-hander Zack Wheeler is slated to toe the rubber for the Phils. He'll be opposed by Marlins lefty Jesus Luzardo.
The Phillies finished the season second in the division, earning the top NL Wild Card spot with a record of 90-and-72. The Marlins finished third in the division, earning the second spot in the NL Wild Card with a record of 84-and-77.
Miami went 7-and-6 against Philadelphia during the regular season. The winner of the three game series will face the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS.
