Stephen A. Smith Talks Sports With The Breakfast Club

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith stopped by The Breakfast Club studios to chat with DJ Envy, Charlamagne tha God and Angela Yee about football, basketball and his relationships with the players he covers.

Charlamagne started off the interview by talking about the dominant performance by the Dallas Cowboys in their week one victory against the New York Giants. While Smith admitted the Cowboys looked good, he predicted the Philadelphia Eagles will win the NFC East.

The conversation then switched to basketball with DJ Envy admitting he has finally given up on the New York Knicks after they failed to make any big signings during free agency. Instead, the Brooklyn Nets are all over the New York basketball scene for signing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Smith brought up the fact that Carmelo Anthony remains unsigned and thinks the Lebron James needs to help get him on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Later in the interview, Smith got personal, talking about his relationships with players and how it can be challenging to be friends with the athletes he covers. Smith told a story about how Shaq's mother came up him and was angry because she felt he was being too soft on his son.

Listen to the full interview above to hear Smith tell a story about when a player slapped his butt and share his opinions on the Antonio Brown saga.
