Maren Morris just pulled a Taylor Swift. The "Rich" singer is gearing up for the release of new music by sharing the so far never-before-heard tunes with 25 special fans in London. Presumably borrowing the idea from Taylor, who famously shared her last two albums with select groups of fans in exclusive listening parties across the world, Maren took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes video of the event, which took place in a flat she rented.
"I feel relief because I have already obviously made up my mind about all of these songs, and that took long enough and it took even longer to record them and mix them," Maren said in the clip’s voiceover. "To have innocent ears just like in complete purity listen to them without any politics involved or publishers or whatever, that was like the first time just pure fans were listening to those songs for the first time." Maren adds she "got to talk about my inspiration behind each song," while the fans shared "their favorites {and ate] hot chicken."
A few fans took to Twitter to react to the experience, writing they "can’t bloody wait to get MM2 & go a long drive!"
No official word just yet on when Maren plans to release her sophomore project.
