Starbucks Replacing Straws With 'Adult Sippy Cups'

Starbucks announced today it will phase out plastic straws from all its locations by 2020. They say the change will eliminate more than a billion plastic straws per year. To get rid of the straws, Starbucks is moving away from the flat, plastic lids on its drinks. Instead, it will use lids with a raised lid people can drink from.

The lids have been said to look like an adult sippy cup. That’s not really a bad thing, since we sometimes need a break from adulting.

Starbucks will still serve frappuccino drinks with plastic lids, but they'll come with straws made of paper or plastic that can be composted. Bonus! You can also bring your own tumbler now.

If you see one of these new cups, please e-mail me a pic of it to Jason@iheartradio.com or Tweet me @JasonTaylor_ihr.
